An aircraft carrying 2.6 metric tons of disaster relief aid from Switzerland arrived at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake on 6th December 2025.
The shipment, consisting of 17 packages, includes water purification units and essential operational equipment. It was transported from Zurich on Edelweiss Air flight WK 064.
The Deputy Ambassador of Switzerland to Sri Lanka and officials from the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) were present at the airport to receive the consignment.
