A SriLankan Airlines Airbus A320neo (4R-ANB) experienced a flight control system issue prior to departure and was subsequently grounded at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport on 11 January 2026.
A specialized SriLankan Engineering team was dispatched to resolve the Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situation. Following rectification, the aircraft was cleared for service and ferried back to Katunayake on the same day, where it promptly rejoined flight operations.
The successful recovery highlights SriLankan Engineering’s technical excellence, rapid-response capability and proven reliability in handling overseas AOG missions.
