SriLankan Airlines is conducting a specialised Airbus A330 Line Flying Under Supervision (LFUS) programme for six senior training and examination pilots from Etihad Airways.
The programme includes five Type Rating Examiners (TREs) and one Senior Type Rating Examiner (STRE). Two pilots completed their training on 23 September, while the remaining four were scheduled to complete the programme by 27 September 2026.
The training was carried out by SriLankan Airlines’ Flight Training team in coordination with Etihad Airways, with the necessary clearances and support from the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL), Ministry of Defence and other relevant stakeholders.
The programme highlights SriLankan Airlines’ A330 operational expertise and training capabilities, while strengthening cooperation between the two airlines and showcasing Sri Lanka’s potential as a regional centre for professional aviation training.
