On 10th October, SriLankan Airlines flight UL 190 pushed back from Dhaka, Bangladesh, with a full load of passengers, departing six minutes ahead of schedule. Among the passengers was Gomez Denis, traveling with his family to the Maldives for a holiday.

During taxi, Mr. Gomez received a heartbreaking call informing him that his beloved father had passed away. He immediately informed the cabin crew of the situation.

In a display of empathy and efficiency, the cabin crew swiftly relayed the message to the operating captain, fully aware of the urgency between taxiing and takeoff. The captain quickly contacted air traffic control and requested permission to return to the gate.

Thanks to the quick actions of both the crew and captain, Mr. Gomez and his family were able to disembark and return home to be with their loved ones during this difficult time.
