SriLankan Airlines has achieved a major milestone, securing a spot among the world’s top 25 airlines for 2025, ahead of renowned carriers like Air France and KLM. The rankings were announced by AirlineRatings.com, a leading aviation safety and product rating agency based in Australia.
Korean Air was named Airline of the Year for 2025, overtaking last year’s winner, Qatar Airways. The evaluation criteria included delivering a comprehensive full-service experience and maintaining a minimum economy seat pitch of 31 inches.
Sharon Petersen, CEO of AirlineRatings.com, highlighted that the awards are based on expert assessments rather than public opinion. “These awards are not a popularity contest or a people’s choice award,” Petersen stated. “Our team conducts a meticulous evaluation of each category to help travelers identify the best airlines for quality, value, and safety.”
