SriLankan Airlines has issued a scam alert warning the public about a fake message circulating on WhatsApp and Facebook that falsely uses the airline’s name, logo and seemingly credible brand images.
The airline highlighted that the message is fraudulent and urged the public not to fall victim to the scam. SriLankan Airlines clarified that it does not request personal details or payments via WhatsApp or any social media platforms.
Passengers and the general public have been advised not to click on suspicious links and not to share sensitive information such as NIC numbers, passport details, OTPs or card information.
SriLankan Airlines further advised customers to verify any offers only through its official hotline, website, mobile applications or verified social media pages.
