SriLankan Airlines is currently negotiating the lease of two wide-body aircraft to strengthen its fleet, according to Chairman Sarath Ganegoda. “As per our plan, we will have at least two more aircraft by the end of this year. If everything goes well, we believe it will be possible,” he said.
He also noted that a shortage of aircraft has forced the airline to drop several profitable routes, including Beijing-Colombo and Nairobi-Colombo, which is a key connection to Australia.
