Sri Lanka to Welcome Moldovan Tourists via Vision Air, Says Former Ambassador Udayanga Weeratunga

The inaugural flight of Vision Air from Kishinev, the capital of Moldova, is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka on December 27, according to a Facebook post by former ambassador Udayanga Weeratunga, who has played a key role in attracting tourists from former Soviet republics.

This winter season, six Vision Air flights will haul around 1,500 tourists, he said in a statement, brining estimated revenues of 2.25 million US dollars.

The tourists are sent by the Join Up, travel agency and the tourists are facilitated in Sri Lanka by Delux Holidays.

Sky Up airlines is also due to fly from Moldova’s capital Kishinev to Sri Lanka.

The flights will bring mainly Ukrainian tourists, Weeratunga said as all airports in Ukraine are now closed.
