Sri Lanka Rises to 96th in 2025 Henley Passport Index; Singapore Claims Top Spot

Sri Lanka has climbed to 96th place on the 2025 Henley Passport Index, sharing the spot with Iran and South Sudan. Sri Lankan passport holders now enjoy visa-free access to 44 destinations worldwide. This marks a steady improvement from its 100th position in 2023 and 102nd in 2022.

Singapore claimed the top spot with visa-free access to 195 destinations, followed by Japan with 193, regaining access to China post-pandemic. The index ranks 199 passports globally, based on IATA’s Timatic data.
