According to available data, Sri Lanka needs to attract 940,000 tourists into the country during the next four months to achieve its ambitious target of 2.3 million set for this year.
According to data, released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, the country, during the first eight months has welcomed 1,362,668 tourists with August brining in 164,609 visitors.
As this year’s tourist arrivals target of 2.3 million seems to be distancing the Government and the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) are taking some action to help boost the numbers.
