Six bidders selected to operate Tourist Service Counters at BIA

The Cabinet has approved the bidders selected for the implementation of Tourist Service Counters in the vacant lobby area in front of the Entrance Terminal of the Bandaranaike International Airport.
 
The government said bidding was called by the Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Ltd. to operate six (06) tourist service counters in the said vacant lobby area at the Katunayake Airport, adding that 12 bids were received for this purpose.
 
Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by the Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Aviation to award the following bidders who have substantially responded and submitted the highest bids to grant permission for utilization of respective areas for a period of 03 years.
 
The approval has been given under the recommendations of the Technical Appraisal Committee and the Standing Procurement Committee appointed by the Cabinet of Ministers after the appraisal of the said bids.
 
The following are the selected bidders;
 
1. Airport Tourist Drivers Association
2. Ayubowan Tours and Travels (Pvt) Ltd
3. Avawia Tours (Pvt) Ltd
4. Lanka Travel Agent Association
5. Casons Travels (Pvt) Ltd
6. JNW Lanka Tours
