SalamAir Boosts Capacity with Wet-Leased A320-200 from FitsAir

SalamAir has added an Airbus A320-200 to its fleet under a wet-lease agreement with Sri Lanka-based FitsAir, enhancing capacity to meet growing demand.

The aircraft, registered 4R-EXS (msn 4552), arrived in Muscat on May 5, 2025, after a ferry flight from Colombo International Airport. At 14.4 years old, the aircraft was originally delivered to IndiGo in December 2010 and remained with the Indian carrier until November 2021. It is currently owned and managed by Deucalion Aviation Limited and powered by V2500 engines from IAE International Aero Engines AG. The aircraft is configured with 180 all-economy seats.

With this addition, SalamAir’s fleet now stands at 14 aircraft, including two wet-leased A320-200s—one each from BBN Airlines Türkiye and FitsAir. The airline is also preparing for future expansion with six Embraer E190-E2s currently on order. (ch-aviation)
