Somali airline Starsky Aviation has praised one of its pilots for a swift and professional response following an emergency landing near Aden Adde International Airport, Mogadishu.
The Fokker 50 aircraft (6O-YAS), operating a flight to Djibouti, experienced a technical failure shortly after departure and was forced to return. During the emergency landing, the aircraft veered off the runway and came to rest in the Indian Ocean.
Thanks to the pilot’s quick decision-making, all 55 people on board, including 50 passengers and five crew members, were safely evacuated without any injuries. The airline commended the crew’s actions, calling them crucial in preventing a major tragedy.
