NGAP 2025 Summit Launches with Focus on Securing the Future of Aviation Talent

The NGAP 2025 Summit officially kicked off its three-day event with hundreds of delegates arriving to engage in vital discussions about the future of the aviation industry. The opening panel addressed the pressing challenge of the global aviation workforce, highlighting the importance of understanding current trends and preparing for what lies ahead.

The future of aviation demands a massive influx of talent. ICAO Secretary-General Juan Carlos Salazar emphasized that this challenge is at the very heart of the Next Generation of Aviation Professionals (NGAP) programme. He described NGAP as a bridge to the future, connecting the aspirations of today’s youth with the incredible opportunities in tomorrow’s aviation sector.

South African Civil Aviation Authority’s Deputy Director of Civil Aviation, Ms. Poppy Khoza, also underscored the urgent need for intervention to secure the next generation of aviation professionals. She highlighted the SACAA’s mission to attract, educate, and retain the talent necessary to address the workforce gap.

A key takeaway from the session was that inclusion is essential – the industry must prioritize diversity and ensure that all voices are heard to successfully secure its future talent pool. Follow official platforms for ongoing updates from the summit venue.
