The Pre-Proposal Meeting for the Expressions of Interest (EOI) program on investment opportunities at Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport was held yesterday (22) at the airport premises with the participation of local and international investors.
During the meeting, discussions focused on developing MRIA in line with the needs of the aviation sector, while investors were given the opportunity to present ideas, suggestions and inquiries. Officials also provided clarifications on the proposed investment opportunities.
Authorities noted a strong and positive response from investors, highlighting the airport’s growing potential due to Sri Lanka’s strategic location and recent development and security improvements. Plans are aimed at transforming MRIA into a regional aviation hub that could support investment, employment generation and economic growth in the Southern Province and across Sri Lanka.
