The Expression of Interest (EOI) Investor Conference and Site Visit was successfully held yesterday (22 May 2026) at Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport, bringing together local and international investors to explore future development opportunities at the airport.
The programme highlighted MRIA’s potential in areas including aviation services, cargo and logistics, MRO facilities, manufacturing, renewable energy, hospitality, and tourism-related investments. Officials also emphasized the airport’s strategic location near the Hambantota Port and key international shipping routes, positioning MRIA as a future hub for integrated air-sea connectivity and regional economic growth.
