Malaysia Airlines is set to significantly boost its Colombo operations, increasing frequencies between Kuala Lumpur (KUL) and Colombo (CMB) as part of its wider regional expansion.
The frequency growth will be implemented in phases:
7x weekly → 8x weekly from 03 April 2026
8x weekly → 9x weekly from 03 May 2026
9x weekly → 10x weekly from 20 May 2026
This steady increase highlights strong demand on the Malaysia-Sri Lanka sector and reinforces Colombo’s role as a key South Asian destination within the airline’s network.
The move is expected to further enhance connectivity for Sri Lankan travellers via Kuala Lumpur to East Asia and beyond, while also supporting inbound tourism and business travel.
