Jetstar will launch Australia’s only low-cost direct service from Melbourne to Colombo starting 25 August 2026, marking the airline’s first-ever route to Sri Lanka. Operated three times weekly on Jetstar’s upgraded Boeing 787 Dreamliners, the service will offer more than 100,000 low-fare seats annually.
The newly refitted 787s will feature enhanced economy and business cabins, onboard Wi-Fi, and expanded long-haul capability. A 24-hour launch sale begins today, with fares starting from AUD 315 one-way.
Jetstar says the new route supports its major international growth phase, while Melbourne Airport welcomes the announcement as demand for travel to Sri Lanka continues to rise.
