Jetstar Asia Ceases Operations After 20 Years; Colombo – Singapore Flight Among Final Departures

Jetstar Asia, the Singapore-based low-cost carrier, officially ceased operations today, 31st July 2025, bringing an end to its two-decade journey in the aviation industry.

Launched in 2004 as part of the Jetstar Group, Jetstar Asia played a vital role in connecting major cities across Asia with affordable travel options. Over the years, it became a trusted carrier for millions of passengers seeking low-fare regional connectivity.

As part of its final day of operations, one of Jetstar Asia’s last flights the Colombo to Singapore service (3K 562) departed from Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake at approximately 11:30 a.m. today. This marks the conclusion of Jetstar Asia’s services to and from Sri Lanka.

In a heartfelt message, Jetstar Asia expressed gratitude to its staff, loyal customers, and industry partners for their continued support over the past 20 years.

While Jetstar Asia (3K) has officially ceased flying, the broader Jetstar network continues, with Jetstar Airways (JQ) in Australia and Jetstar Japan (GK) continuing to operate as usual.
