Finance Minister of Japan Suzuki Shunichi who arrived in Sri Lanka on a two-day official visit was warmly received at the BIA on the 11th January 2024 and made an inspection visit to the construction site of Terminal 2 of Bandaranaike International Airport.
Minister of Finance of Japan Suzuki Shunichi and the delegation visited the airport with Hon. Premitha Bandara Tennakoon, State Minister of Defence and the Chairman of Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited Eng. Athula Galketiya. During this visit, the Finance Minister had discussions with the senior officials on the current status of the project and the future of the project at BIA.
Chairman AASL thanked the Japanese government and the people of Japan for their collaboration and the financial support for the development of Bandaranaike International Airport and highlighted the readiness of AASL to re-start the project.
