Indigo Airlines, one of the best low cost domestic airlines in India, will operate direct flights between Chennai and Jaffna from mid this year, an Airport Aviation (AASL) official in Colombo said.
The airline also operates daily flights to Colombo from Chennai and Bangalore. AASL also announced that the Palali airport is now being upgraded with extended runway and bigger duty free shops and other facilities too would be introduced.
The Jaffna airport is already receiving direct flights from Air India and this would be the second international airline to operate to the Northern airport. – Daily News
