India’s aviation industry has achieved significant growth and many achievements in the last few years, which has also been a great strength for Sri Lanka’s aviation industry, which is close to India, said Nimal Siripala de Silva, Minister of Ports and Aviation at the ‘Wings 2024’ held in Hyderabad, India recently.
The Minister said that of all the tourists who came to Sri Lanka in 2023, more than 20% were Indians numbering 302,844.
Accordingly, connections between India and Sri Lanka by can be further developed creating more flights within a short time from India, which has a huge tourist market of 1.4 billion people.
The Chairman of the Airport and Air Services Company, Atula Galkatiya, and the Director of Civil Aviation Authority, Additional Director General Rayhan Wanniappa, participated in the conference. (Ceylon Today)
