Edelweiss will resume direct services between Colombo and Zurich starting 28 October 2025, operating twice-weekly flights every Tuesday and Saturday. The route offers travelers seamless onward connections via Zurich with Swiss International Air Lines and Lufthansa.
To celebrate the commencement of Edelweiss/ SWISS operations in Sri Lanka, a special reception was hosted at the Swiss Ambassador’s Residence in Colombo, graced by Her Excellency Dr. Siri Walt, Ambassador of Switzerland.
In the previous winter season 2024/ 25, Edelweiss operated 28 flights, carrying 5,632 inbound passengers to Colombo and 2,664 outbound passengers. The airline also played a key role in air cargo, handling 117 tons discharged and 304 tons uplifted, strengthening trade ties between Switzerland and Sri Lanka.
The airline is represented in Sri Lanka by United Ventures Pvt. Ltd., its General Sales Agent (GSA), which continues to strengthen sales and marketing efforts in the region. (Aviation Voice)
