Cathay Pacific launches non-stop flights between Hong Kong and Rome, nears 100 global destinations

Cathay Pacific has resumed its non-stop service between Hong Kong and Rome, marking a major step in the airline’s 2025 expansion. This is the fourth new destination for Cathay Pacific this year, following Hyderabad, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Urumqi, as the Cathay Group approaches 100 global passenger destinations.
The Rome route, which will operate three times per week (Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays) through 25 October 2025, is flown by Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
Cathay now serves 12 European cities with nearly 100 return flights per week, including Milan, London, Paris, Zurich, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Madrid, Manchester, and Barcelona. Flights to Munich and Brussels will follow this summer.
Low-cost affiliate HK Express has also launched six new routes in 2025, supporting broader connectivity across Asia. The Cathay Group is expected to exceed 100 destinations worldwide within the first half of the year.
