The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the award of the contract to Maga Engineering (Pvt) Ltd. for the construction of a new terminal facility at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA).
The project includes a new building with 36 check-in counters and six boarding gates, directly connecting the departure terminal to aircraft to improve passenger processing and boarding efficiency.
The contract was awarded following an international competitive bidding process, with Maga Engineering selected as the lowest substantially responsive bidder. The project forms part of the government’s airport infrastructure development programme aimed at expanding BIA’s passenger handling capacity.
