Belavia – Belarusian Airlines has launched direct weekly flights between Minsk and Mattala, marking a new chapter in air connectivity between Belarus and Sri Lanka. The inaugural A330-200 flight arrived at Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (MRIA) on October 28 with 277 tourists and was welcomed with a water cannon salute and cultural performances. The service, operating every Tuesday until March 2026, underscores MRIA’s growing importance as a gateway for international tourism.
