The much-anticipated Aviation Premier League & Parallel New Year Festival is set to take place on April 19 and 20 at the BOI Grounds, Katunayake. Organized by the Airport Joint Professional Union, the event will bring together key stakeholders in the aviation industry, including government institutions, private organizations, airlines, aviation academies and security forces.
The highlight of the festival is a thrilling day-and-night cricket tournament, open to both men and women. In a unique initiative to promote Sri Lanka’s tourism industry, four international teams will also be invited to participate. Players will take the field in vibrant, colorful jerseys, adding a festive atmosphere to the competition.
Adding to the celebrations, a traditional Sinhala and Tamil New Year festival will feature exciting activities such as the Guwanthotupala Avurudu Kumara and Kumariya competition, traditional New Year games and cultural performances.
