Air Cargo Demand Rises 5.8% in April 2025

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) reported a 5.8% year-on-year increase in global air cargo demand for April 2025, measured in cargo tonne-kilometers (CTKs). This growth reflects sustained momentum in the air cargo sector.
Regionally, Asia-Pacific airlines led with a 9.6% increase, while Europe and North America saw gains of 4.4% and 3.7%, respectively. Africa was the only region to experience a decline, with demand dropping by 13.4%. The overall industry load factor remained steady at 47.5%. IATA attributes the growth to strong e-commerce activity and ongoing challenges in ocean shipping.
