Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited (AASL) a fully government-owned company released its annual report for the year 2023 on May 31, 2024 posting a all time record operational profit of Rs. 19,315 million and profit after tax of Rs 28,122 million for the financial year 2023.
The company recorded total revenue of Rs. Rs 38,376 million and a net profit after tax of Rs. 28,122 million. In addition, the company contributed Rs. 12,218 million to the government of Sri Lanka in the financial year 2023. AASL was able to publish the Annual Report 2023 in all three languages on May 31, 2024, as per the guidelines of the Good Corporate Governance Act. As a result of the dedication of the management team at AASL, the company was able to publish the report well in advance to the deadlines.
AASL manages and operates Bandaranaike International Airport, Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport, Colombo International Airport Ratmalana, Batticaloa Airport, Jaffna International Airport and Sri Lanka Airport & Aviation Academy employing 3,940. AASL recorded 7,548,646 international passenger movements in 2023 bettering on the figure of 5,503,198 in 2022 while it also felicitated International Aircraft Movements 46,639.
Cargo movements were recorded at 158,911 MT while Overflying Movements were at 35,506. AASL Contribution to the Government coffers LKR 12,218 Mn in 2023 and LKR 1,983 Mn 2022. Chairman of Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Limited Eng. Athula Galketiya, stated: “AASL’s commitment extends beyond airport operations, providing services to international airlines, and infrastructure management, encompassing crucial services like search, rescue, firefighting, and aviation security tour international airports.”
