British Airways will resume flights to Sri Lanka after a 10-year hiatus, restoring a key air link between the UK and the island.
Aviation Voice: The inaugural flight, BA2045, from London Gatwick Airport to Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), is scheduled to arrive at 8.35 a.m. on Saturday, 24 October 2026.
The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau will host a special welcome ceremony at BIA, featuring distinguished guests and a traditional dance performance.
The airline’s return is expected to strengthen UK-Sri Lanka connectivity, expand travel options and support the country’s tourism industry.
