Sri Lanka has surpassed 1.7 million tourist arrivals in 2026, with total arrivals reaching 1,717,028, according to the latest figures.
India continues to lead Sri Lanka’s tourism market with 447,476 arrivals, followed by the United Kingdom, China, Germany and Australia.
Deputy Minister of Civil Aviation highlighted the positive outlook for the upcoming winter season, noting that increased air connectivity and additional flights are expected to further strengthen tourism arrivals. Aviation Voice
Sri Lanka is also set to welcome additional international airline services this month, with British Airways, Uzbekistan’s Centrum Air and Switzerland’s Edelweiss among the carriers scheduled to commence or resume operations to the country.
With expanding air connectivity and strong demand from key international markets, Sri Lanka is expecting a strong winter tourism season and further growth in tourist arrivals during the final months of 2026.
