British Airways is all set to resume seasonal non-stop services between London Gatwick (LGW) and Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) from 23 October 2026, operating three times weekly throughout the winter season with Boeing 777 aircraft.
The return marks British Airways’ first service on the Colombo route since 2015, offering greater connectivity for travellers between Sri Lanka, the UK and Europe, while providing convenient access to Sri Lanka’s popular tourism and surfing destinations.
The renewed connectivity is expected to provide a boost to Sri Lanka’s tourism sector, particularly from the UK, supporting hotels, tour operators and other tourism-related businesses. Travellers will also benefit from premium long-haul travel options, onward connections and oneworld alliance benefits.
