Around 200 Japanese tourists organized by the Little Japan Group departed from Narita, Japan, for Sri Lanka today on a single SriLankan Airlines flight, UL455, marking an encouraging development for Sri Lanka-Japan tourism.
Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Japan, H.E. Prof. Pivithuru Janak Kumarasinghe, together with First Secretary (Commerce) Mr. Sandun Sameera, saw off the group at Narita International Airport.
During their visit, the tourists are expected to explore major attractions including Sigiriya and experience Ayurveda treatments. The visit was organized with support and facilitation from the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Japan.
The large group highlights growing interest among Japanese travellers and provides a positive boost to Sri Lanka’s tourism sector as the country looks ahead to a stronger travel season.
