Starting tonight, 16 August 2026, Vietnam Airlines will officially launch its new nonstop service between Ho Chi Minh City and Colombo, Sri Lanka, marking a significant milestone in air connectivity between the two countries.
The new route will operate three times a week, on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, providing passengers with a convenient direct connection between the two cities and opening up greater travel opportunities between the two countries.
The launch is also expected to strengthen Sri Lanka’s connectivity with Vietnam’s growing tourism and business markets. Through Ho Chi Minh City, passengers can access a range of popular Vietnamese destinations, including Hanoi, Da Nang, Hoi An and Ha Long, while experiencing the country’s rich cultural heritage, distinctive cuisine and diverse natural landscapes.
The new service comes as Vietnam Airlines expands its international network and responds to growing demand for travel between Southeast Asia and Sri Lanka.
