The restructuring of SriLankan Airlines is expected to commence within the next six months, following recommendations from the expert committee appointed by the Government.
Speaking to Aviation Voice, Deputy Minister of Civil Aviation Janitha Ruwan Kodithuwakku said the committee is currently evaluating various restructuring proposals and will submit its recommendations to the Government.
He said proposals from international and private-sector parties, including Hong Kong-based Transwell Corporation Limited, will also be considered before a final restructuring model is proposed.
The Cabinet approved in July the appointment of a special committee headed by Presidential Senior Adviser on the Digital Economy Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya to oversee the strategic review and restructuring of the national carrier.
