Vietnam Airlines has announced that it will bring forward the launch of its new nonstop service between Ho Chi Minh City and Colombo, with flights now scheduled to commence on 16 August 2026, earlier than previously planned.
According to a statement published on the airline’s official social media channels, the new route will operate three weekly flights on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, offering passengers a direct and convenient connection between Vietnam and Sri Lanka.
The airline said the nonstop service will provide easier access to Vietnam’s key destinations, including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hoi An and Ha Long, while supporting growing tourism and business travel between the two countries.
Vietnam Airlines noted that the decision to advance the launch reflects increasing travel demand between Vietnam and Sri Lanka and the strong potential of the South Asian market. The Colombo route is the latest addition to the airline’s expanding international network.
