Sri Lanka and Vietnam will enjoy enhanced air connectivity this August as both Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet launch new scheduled direct services between the two countries, further boosting tourism, trade, business, and cultural exchanges.
Vietnam Airlines has announced the launch of its new Ho Chi Minh City-Colombo route, commencing on 16 August 2026. The airline will operate three weekly flights, marking another milestone in its international network expansion while offering passengers convenient direct connectivity between Vietnam and Sri Lanka.
Just two days later, on 18 August 2026, Vietjet will inaugurate its new Colombo-Ho Chi Minh City service. The airline has already opened bookings, introducing special promotional launch fares. The route will become Vietjet’s first scheduled service to Sri Lanka and will further strengthen travel, tourism, business, and people-to-people links between the two nations.
The introduction of these two new services reflects the growing demand for travel between Sri Lanka and Vietnam and is expected to provide greater travel options for leisure and business travellers while supporting the continued growth of both countries’ tourism industries.
