Turkish Airlines A330 Evacuated at Kathmandu After Landing Gear Fire Scare

A Turkish Airlines Airbus A330-343 was evacuated at Tribhuvan International Airport after smoke and fire were reported from the aircraft’s landing gear following its arrival from Istanbul.

According to Nepal’s Civil Aviation Authority, all 277 passengers and 11 crew members were safely evacuated using emergency exits, with no injuries reported.

The airline stated that smoke was observed while the aircraft was taxiing after landing, adding that initial assessments suggest the issue may have been caused by a technical malfunction in a hydraulic pipe.
