Jaffna International Airport (JIA) recorded its strongest performance since opening in 2019, marking 2025 as a milestone year with 53,443 international passenger movements and 1,138 international aircraft movements.
The year was highlighted by several historic achievements, including international charter flights from Malaysia, Hyderabad, and Chennai, the first-ever international MEDEVAC charter flight and the commencement of the Terminal Expansion Project. The airport also played a vital role in facilitating humanitarian relief flights following Cyclone Ditwah.
