The Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) successfully facilitated the ICAO Government Safety Inspector Course on Personnel Licensing (GSI PEL EN) from 12th to 30th January 2026.
The course was hosted by the Sri Lanka Airport & Aviation Academy (SLAAA) in Ratmalana.
The program targeted CAASL licensing personnel, including flight crew licensing inspectors, maintenance licensing inspectors, licensing officers, and administrative staff.
Capt. Daminda Rambukwella, Director General of Civil Aviation & CEO (CAASL), attended the sessions and underscored the significance of this ICAO-certified training in enhancing the competency and efficiency of Sri Lanka’s aviation licensing team. He also highlighted its vital role in preparing for the upcoming ICAO audit.
The 15-day intensive course was led by Mr. Susantha De Silva, an ICAO-certified Personnel Licensing Expert.
The closing ceremony was attended by Capt. Daminda Rambukwella, DGCA & CEO, Mr. Krishantha Nimalaratne, Head of SLAAA, and course instructors.
