Ethiopian Airlines (ET) has placed a firm order for nine Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, strengthening its long-haul fleet. Although the purchase agreements were finalized in December 2025, the airline and Boeing officially announced the order in January 2026.
Together with 11 Boeing 737 MAX jets ordered earlier, the 20-aircraft deal expands Africa’s largest 787 fleet and supports the airline’s continued growth and network expansion.
