Plasticcycle, the social entrepreneurship initiative of John Keells Holdings PLC, has launched the first phase of its bin expansion project at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), in collaboration with Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited. Four new Plasticcycle bins have been placed in high-traffic areas of the airport to encourage responsible disposal of recyclable plastic waste.
The project is sponsored by Walkers Tours Sri Lanka and aims to provide both travellers and airport staff with convenient recycling options.
The official handing-over event took place yesterday with the participation of senior representatives from AASL, Walkers Tours Limited and Plasticcycle.
