IATA Delegation Meets Minister to Further Enhance Sri Lanka’s Aviation Standards

A delegation from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), led by Asia Pacific Vice President Sheldon Hee, met with Sri Lanka’s Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation, Anura Karunathilaka, to discuss enhancing the country’s global aviation image.

The discussions focused on attracting more international airlines to operate flights to Sri Lanka and strengthening the nation’s aviation standards. Vice President Hee expressed IATA’s commitment to supporting Sri Lanka in key areas such as aviation safety, training, standards development, and digitalization.

Representing over 260 airlines worldwide, IATA’s engagement marks an important step toward the continued growth and modernization of Sri Lanka’s aviation sector.
