SLFFA Cargo Services Commends New Government’s Pro-Cargo Decisions; Reports 49% Revenue Growth

SLFFA Cargo Services Ltd (SLFFACSL), a consortium of 61 leading freight forwarders, reported a strong 49% increase in turnover to Rs. 531.51 million at its 31st Annual General Meeting, reflecting continued resilience and growth despite challenging economic conditions.

Chairman Diren Hallock praised the new Government for reversing hastily granted air cargo system approvals and for halting the rushed privatization of SriLankan Airlines, moves he said would safeguard the nation’s air cargo industry. He emphasized the need to revisit the airline’s monopoly in ground handling to ensure greater efficiency and competitiveness.

SLFFACSL’s gross profit rose by 39% to Rs. 254.94 million, driven by increased volumes of general cargo and garment industry shipments. The company maintained operational efficiency despite lean management and a 45% staff turnover, continuing to invest in training and HR development.

The Board announced a final dividend of Rs. 1.75 per share, following an interim dividend of 25 cents paid earlier. Looking ahead, SLFFACSL plans to establish a fully-fledged Cargo Handling Terminal and further digitalize operations through its partnership with CCN Singapore, advancing Sri Lanka’s move toward a paperless air cargo environment.

Chairman Hallock reaffirmed SLFFACSL’s commitment to supporting the national logistics and freight forwarding industry, working closely with government agencies to enhance Sri Lanka’s role as a regional logistics and air cargo hub.
