Sri Lanka welcomed 198,235 tourists in August, marking a 20.4% increase compared to the same period last year.
According to statistics, 164,609 tourists visited the country in August 2024, highlighting the steady growth in arrivals this year.
The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) reported that India remained the leading source market, with 46,473 Indian tourists visiting the island in August alone.
From January to August 2025, Sri Lanka has recorded a total of 1,566,523 tourist arrivals. (News 1st)
