‘Aviation Forum 2025’ – Connect Maldives concludes successful 2nd edition at Hulhule Island Hotel

The second edition of the Aviation Forum – Connect Maldives successfully concluded on 27 May 2025 at the Hulhule Island Hotel, bringing together key players from the aviation and travel industries for a dynamic full-day conference. The forum focused on addressing the challenges and opportunities arising from the Maldives’ rapidly growing demand for air travel and aviation services.

The event attracted stakeholders across the aviation spectrum, including airport and airline operators, industry organizations, and travel professionals. Attendees engaged in collaborative discussions on strategies to enhance the country’s aviation infrastructure, improve services and meet the increasing demands of inbound tourism.

A major highlight of the forum was the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) announcement of the official opening date for the new terminal at Velana International Airport, set for 26th July 2025. This milestone brings renewed optimism to the sector, aligning with industry projections of over two million tourist arrivals in 2025 alone.

The forum featured four panel discussions, keynote speeches and a dedicated workshop, covering key topics such as innovation in airport operations, improving the traveler experience, and advancing sustainability in aviation.

Organized and managed by Medium Events, the Aviation Forum received support from sponsors including SITA, Inner Maldives, and Avia Maldives. Printlab Creative served as the event’s print partner, while Maldives Moments handled audiovisual, sound, and lighting production. The forum was officially endorsed by the Airline Operators Committee, MATATO (Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators), and MATI (Maldives Association of Tourism Industry).

Aviation Voice proudly served as one of the official media partners for the event, amplifying coverage across its global platforms.
