59th DGCA Conference Held in Cebu, Philippines: Key Discussions on Aviation Safety, Security and Development

The 59th Conference of Directors General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for the ICAO Asia and Pacific Regions concluded successfully in Cebu, Philippines, from October 14-18, 2024. The event saw the participation of around 310 delegates from 37 countries and 11 international organizations. Key attendees included ICAO President Salvatore Sciacchitano, Secretary General Juan Carlos Salazar, and representatives from FAA, EASA, IATA, Transport Canada, and TSA.

Discussions focused on aviation safety, security, air navigation, transport development, and environmental considerations. AVM Sagara Kotakadeniya (Retd.), DGCA & CEO of the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka, moderated a panel on air transport economic development and engaged in talks on regional aviation cooperation.
